About the Author
Robert Pripps has authored numerous farm tractor books, including Vintage Ford Tractors, Big Book of Caterpillar, Big Book of Massey, and more, all with Voyageur Press. Robert has a maple syrup farm near Park Falls, Wisconsin.Photographer-author Ralph W. Sanders has photographed tractors for more than 40 years. Ralph grew up on an Illinois farm where he had ample opportunity to "exercise" a 1933 Farmall F-12 and 1948 Farmall C, as well as a Farmall H, Farmall MD, and McCormick W-6. He has worked for Prairie Farmer; Successful Farming; and as a full-time freelance agricultural photographer for Deere & Co., Massey-Ferguson, Kinze Mfg., Vermeer Mfg., DuPont Ag, Monsanto Ag, and others. Sanders is the author of several books from Voyageur Press. He lives in West Des Moines, Iowa.

Excellent write-ups and excellent photos; but I'm "dinging" this book one star because of what they did to so many of the latter: Why in blazes did they have to print photos across the gutter?!?!? Most photos are okay -- they fit in one page. But there are many that are needlessly printed across the gutter when they could have been sized down a bit. So I want to see what this particular Farmall looks like; but I'd have to tear the book apart and put the two pages together flat to get the picture. Dumb! In at least one case, all they had to do was crop the photo a little, getting rid of a bunch of bland, fallow field to the left of the tractor, and then the whole tractor would have fit into the left page, instead of crossing the bloomin' gutter. Many of the photos are like that; they don't take up both pages, just spill onto the second page, when a little bit of cropping and/or resizing would have allowed the reader to see what the bloomin' tractor looked like.
