I found the story interesting. Most narratives are written decades after the experience. This one was written shortly after the release from Auschwitz. The person was only incarcerated there for a few months near the end and did not have to experience the extended horrors that many did. It's written in a kind of matter of fact style of someone who wants to get their experiences out. But like all stories from people in Auschwitz it covers similar ground, but also provides a unique narrative of their experience and some details not mentioned by others. It's not scholarly, just one persons experiences written down when they were still fresh in their mind
This is a very short book and does not give many details. There are better books out there by Jewish physicians practising in Auschwitz which are very detailed. Skip this one.
